Q: I run a full line vending business; is it worth adding coin operated scales to my business?
A: CoinOp Scales are virtually maintenance free. There are no moving parts to go wrong and no product to refill. They also attract a different customer and so it gives you an added income stream. Why leave money on the table?
Q: Are CoinOp Scales reliable?
A: We operate the same scales ourselves in the harshest environments, including laudromats, washaterias, malls, etc. They were designed by experienced operators to be durable! There are no moving parts to go wrong, the coin mechanism is virtually hassle-free, and it's made from solid steel. If they could fit, the platform will withstand over five normal sized people standing on the scale at the same time! In the unlikely event that you encounter a problem, we back our product 100% with a warranty. There are really only three things to go wrong: The coin mechanism, the main board, and the load cell. By undoing four screws, you can replace any one of these modules in minutes.
Q: I'm looking for residual income... what would a coin operated scale route do for me?
A: They are the best! Low investment with "no-problem" income for years, and should you ever wish to sell, you can double your investment by offering a business for sale rather than just selling equipment. The overall income from a scale is probably lower than bulk-vending, video games, or redemption, BUT, instead of experiencing the problems in running these types of equipment, scales are a breeze! There are no moving parts to go wrong, and no product to order, warehouse, refill and throw away when they go out of date or a new fad comes along. So instead of being on-call over weekends and late in the evening to run to fix a jammed mechanism, or refill a canister, you just visit the scale once every one or two months and collect your money. There's no on-location counting either as the scale has a built in coin counter, so you're in and out of a location in minutes!
Q: How long do CoinOp Scale batteries last?
A: Depending upon the amount of use, we change the batteries in our scales about once a year, whether they need it or not. We can tell you where to buy the 'D' sized batteries for about 75 cents each plus shipping, so that's only about $8 a year to operate.
Q: Do you only have one model?
A: At the moment, we only offer the one basic model. However, you will find our "basic" model everything you need: Bi-lingual, weight in pounds and kilograms, and packed full of fun attractions such as weight on the moon, lucky lotto, and daily saying. Adding a printer will make it more labor intensive and prone to break down. Like this, it's easy! And we like easy!
Q: Can I charge more than 25 cents per play?
A: Yes! The program allows you to change the number of quarters required for one play from one to ten, or from twenty five cents to two dollars fifty cents per play.
Q: Can I personalize my CoinOp Scale?
A: Yes! With the optional connector kit and software program, you can personalize all messages, and even change the language displayed. Need English and French, French and German? No problem. Just change the text messages into the languages required.
Q: What is the CoinOp Scale battery saving feature?
A: This allows you to preogarm the scale to turn off during the times when the store is closed, giving even more life to the batteries.
Q: If somebody else collects the money from the scale, can they cheat me?
A: No! The scale has two counters: a "batch count" that shows you how much money is in the scale and is cleared each time you make a collection, and a "life time" counter which cannot be changed and shows how much money has been inserted into the scale in its lifetime. Just keep a record of the "life time" count and you know how much has been collected each visit. |
